Fiberglass Grating Panels — Molded & Pultruded

Fiberglass Grating Panels — Molded & Pultruded
Fiberglass grating panels — also called FRP panels, fibreglass grating or GFRP panels — are open-mesh sheets of glass fibre embedded in a corrosion-resistant resin. ZeAllgrate manufactures them in two engineered formats for industrial flooring, access and drainage.
- Molded panels: bi-directional strength, equal load both directions
- Pultruded panels: I-bar / T-bar / square bar for long spans and heavy loads
- Standard sheet 1220 × 3660 mm; thickness 25 / 30 / 38 / 40 / 50 mm
- Resins: isophthalic, vinyl ester, phenolic, fire-retardant, UV-stabilized
- Non-conductive, spark-resistant, zero-maintenance, 20+ year service life

Resin Systems for Every Environment
Corrosion resistance starts with the resin. Each fiberglass panel system is matched to your media, concentration and service temperature.
| Resin System | Best For | Service Temperature |
|---|---|---|
| Isophthalic (ISO) polyester | General chemical exposure, water/wastewater | 60–70 °C |
| Vinyl ester | Acids, alkalis, solvents | 80–90 °C |
| Phenolic | Fire-critical, low smoke | 120–150 °C |
| Fire-retardant | Code-required flame ratings | ASTM E84 Class A |
| UV-stabilized | Outdoor & solar exposure | UV-stabilized system |

Where Fiberglass Panels Are Used
Molded and pultruded fiberglass grating panels replace steel and aluminium where rust, weight and conductivity are a problem.
Walkways
Grit-top anti-slip panels for plant walkways, catwalks and access routes.
Platforms
Heavy-duty panels for processing platforms and raised working floors.
Trench Covers
Load-classed panels for drainage trenches and basin covers.

Fiberglass Panels vs Steel vs Aluminium
Why specifiers switch industrial flooring to fiberglass reinforced plastic panels.
| Property | FRP / GRP Panel | Galvanized Steel | Aluminium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Density (approx.) | 1.9 g/cm³ | 7.8 g/cm³ | 2.7 g/cm³ |
| Corrosion resistance | Excellent — non-corrosive | Rusts; zinc coating degrades | Oxidises; pitting in chlorides |
| Electrical conductivity | Non-conductive | Conductive | Conductive |
| Maintenance | Zero, 20+ year service | Re-painting / re-galvanizing | Periodic cleaning |

Frequently Asked Questions
Standard panels are 1220 × 3660 mm (4′ × 12′), in thicknesses of 25 / 30 / 38 / 40 / 50 mm, with mesh pitches of 38×38, 40×40 and 50×50 mm. We also supply mini-mesh panels in 12, 15 and 20 mm, and cut panels to your exact footprint.
Molded panels give bi-directional strength with equal load in both directions for platforms, walkways and trench covers. Pultruded panels use I-bar, T-bar and square bar profiles for longer spans and heavier loads.
Isophthalic (ISO) polyester for general chemical exposure, vinyl ester for strong acids, alkalis and solvents, and phenolic for fire-critical low-smoke service. Add fire-retardant (ASTM E84 Class A) and UV-stabilized options for outdoor and code-required service.
Yes — UV-stabilized resin systems are formulated for outdoor and solar exposure, and the panels are non-corrosive to salt water and marine spray, with a 20+ year service life in corrosive service.
Yes. Cut with a carbide or diamond-tipped circular saw, deburr and seal exposed cut edges with resin to prevent moisture ingress. We also factory-cut panels to your drawing.
