Anti-Slip GRP Grating — Grit-Top Safety Surfaces

The walking surface is a safety specification, not an aesthetic choice. ZeAllgrate molds four finishes into our anti slip GRP grating — grit-top, concave, convex and smooth — matched to the contamination you expect: water, oil, process chemicals or dust.

  • Grit-top silica surface for wet, wash-down, marine and ramp service
  • Concave and convex textures for general industrial walkways
  • Smooth surface for cleanrooms and hygienic dry areas
  • Anti-slip performance moulded / bonded in — no site coating to renew

Four GRP Grating Surfaces Compared

Match the surface to the expected contamination. The critical number is the wet coefficient of friction, not the dry one.

SurfaceDescriptionSlip ResistanceBest For
Concave (dished)Dished dimples on the top surfaceGood dry / moderate wetGeneral walkways, light contamination
Convex (raised)Raised rounded protrusionsGood dry / moderate wetStandard industrial platforms
Grit-top (silica)Abrasive silica grit bonded into the topBest wet / oilyWet, wash-down, marine, food processing, ramps
SmoothFlat, non-textured topLowest (clean dry only)Cleanrooms, food contact, low-hazard dry areas

Choose by the Contamination You Expect

💧

Always Wet / Wash-Down

Specify grit-top. Pump stations, wastewater, food & beverage and marine decks.

🏭

General Industrial

Concave or convex as standard; upgrade to grit-top where contamination is expected.

🥤

Hygienic / Clean

Smooth surface — easy to clean, no grit to trap residue, in pharma and microelectronics areas.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is grit-top anti-slip GRP grating?

Grit-top GRP grating has abrasive silica grit bonded into the top surface during manufacture. It maintains its bite when wet or oily — unlike painted anti-slip coatings that wear off. It is the standard surface for wash-down zones, marine decks, food plants and ramps.

Which surface is best for wet or oily areas?

Specify grit-top. A surface that is fine dry can become hazardous once a film of water, oil or process fluid sits on it. In permanently wet or oily service, rely on the bonded grit rather than concave or convex texture alone.

Do anti-slip surfaces wear off?

No. The grit is bonded at manufacture and the texture is moulded into the laminate, so the anti-slip performance does not wear away and needs no site-applied coating renewal — a maintenance advantage over painted systems.

When should I specify a smooth surface?

Use smooth only where hygiene or cleanroom particulate control outweighs slip risk — pharmaceutical and microelectronics areas, food-grade contact — and where the surface stays clean and dry.

Can I mix surfaces on one project?

Yes. A common hybrid is grit-top on stair treads, ramps and wet zones, with concave or convex surface on level dry walkways. This matches the surface to the local slip risk at the lowest cost.
